Today for the first time, we as a family took the opportunity to go to the Quito Zoo in Guayllabamba and it was a really fun outing for us with the kids.
Below are some pictures of the sites... : )

Simon was the official tour guide - map and all. We saw lots o' cool things!

monkeys...

Tortugas (he was ready and waiting with a smile for us)

"Giddyup there Mister Turtle!"

These guys were Simons favorites...not sure what they were but this is a baby nursing.

Is this a warthog? All I know is that I have been singing the "When I was a young warthog" song all afternoon. (From the Lion King, in case you're not familiar with that catchy toon ;))

As usual I was struck by the beauty of this country...

A view along the walking path...

A big ugly buzzard

Love these trees - actually took a video of the flowers swaying in the breeze.

Simon and Ana braving the Sabor Toothed Tiger!

Time to go - this is the entrance and exit view -

pretty spectacular backdrop, don't you think?

Thanks for the tour Bud - you did great!
